About Reiki

The Japanese word ‘rei’ means “something mysterious or sacred,” and the word ‘ki’ can be translated as “energy of the universe.” Reiki, then, is the sacred energy of the universe. in practice, it is the laying on of hands to heal. Reiki helps return the self to balance, aiding each person’s life path and wellness. For those who experience it, Reiki is tremendously warm, relaxing, and transformative.

Simply put, Reiki is healing energy!

Reiki Share is a great way to receive and exchange Reiki at an incredibly reasonable cost.  Anna is a Reiki Master and shaman who runs Vibrant Reiki, one of the leading Reiki practices in San Francisco.

About Shamanism

Shamanism is one of the oldest traditions in our human heritage. In early times, when our ancestors were unsure of what medicine plants to use, where to hunt, how to help a sick or injured clanmate heal, or how to work in harmony with the life-giving spirits of nature, a shaman would enter a trance state, and travel in non-ordinary reality to bring back information and healing for the tribe.

Today, shamanism is undergoing a renaissance, and is being practiced all over the planet, helping us stay balanced, empowered and joyful in our modern world. Everyone can learn to journey – We encourage you to come to a shaman circle, or experience shamanic work for yourself.

Based in core shamanism, the shaman circle offers a safe, joyful space to explore shamanic journeying and practice. We’ll call in sacred space together, enjoy introductions, provide a brief overview on how to journey for beginners, and move through two shamanic journeys with live drumming, entering non-ordinary reality and exploring different shamanic worlds. Everyone can learn to journey, and gain information about our life paths, insight into our struggles, help solve problems, and offer healing for all of creation. Come play! Beginners Welcome!

VIBRANT REIKI
Anna’s formal training in reiki and shamanism began in the same month in 2004, and Vibrant Reiki was officially born in 2006.  She’s been through a few incarnations, as she nomaded about the country for a year teaching reiki, and then lived in Santa Fe, New Mexico and San Francisco for two weeks out of every month for a year.  Throughout, San Francisco has been Vibrant Reiki’s home base, and her community is stellar!  Her role these days is teaching 20 levels of Reiki and shamanic arts, hosting community events, anchoring the healing practice behind the scenes, and lecturing about Reiki at CIIS, City College, and UCSF.

The ability to practice Reiki is inherent in all of us, and is transferred through a series of sacred attunements that open a healer to act as a ‘hollow bone’ for reiki energy. Once attuned, a reiki practitioner taps into reiki itself, and is able to heal without depleting their own energy reserves.

Anna finds Reiki to be an intuitive and intelligent modality – it will direct itself to where it is needed. You may find that your intent focuses on easing a physical imbalance, and discern that your mental, emotional or spiritual path gains momentum instead. Reiki may surprise you – and it’s FUN!
